The guitar is a very unusually structured instrument. It is made of six strings that are read from left to right, or from the smallest string to the biggest. Namely we count the strings as 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and the corresponding names are E, A, D, G, B, E. We can go ahead of our time to mention that middle C is on the 5th string and in the 3rd fret.

The 20th century has established the use of the guitar as a leading instrument for musical composition, performance, solo, and band. The second half of the 20th century has seen a universal necessity to rely on the guitar. The latter use various range to complete a melodic harmony unique to the six stringed instrument, as the bass guitar, the solo and accompaniment guitars became the prominent instrumentation of bands and musical ensembles.
The guitar tablature became the new knowledge that most musician excelled in learning as new musicians were abducted into the halls of fame. Decades of new music were based on the I – IV – V7 progressions for various music styles such as Rock n roll, Gospel music, pop music and more. The new groups were unique in their instrumental compositions.
The guitar became part of the grade school music curriculum for upper elementary to high school. Some school included guitar ensemble, guitar concert, and guitar competition in their music curriculum. Many students gained scholarship to pursue guitar as a profession. Right-handed guitar is more popular than the left-handed guitar. The latter has many prominent and well-known left handed guitarists.
The convenience of guitar as a musical instrument
The guitar has quickly gained its prominence throughout the world, as it transcended cultures, languages, continents, and islands to name a few. The guitar is made in many sizes: from quarter, half, to full sizes. it can be held in many positions as well: against the chest, on the side following the shape of the body sitting on the lap and more.
